Do you want a fundamental secret of success? And do you want to rid yourself of an idea that's keeping you from getting what you want?
Know this today: effortless success does not exist
Effortless success is an elusive and fantastic creature. If only it existed. Our culture craves instant gratification and we want the easy path to fame and fortune. We don't want to work for our dreams. We purchase lottery tickets and really hope we win, because that's easier than investing our money and replicating the action steps taken by those who consistently bring wealth into their lives. And watching the "reality" of other people's problems on TV is much easier than working on shoring up the quality of our own relationships.
The truth is there is no effortless success. Success requires action. It does not and can not exist without it. Action is a powerful secret of success. When we stop thinking about what we want and actually move to get it, then an entire world of possibilities and opportunities open up to help us in our quest.
Create the illusion of effortless success
But why is taking action such a difficult thing for so many people? We allow ourselves to believe certain things, to have ideas that we consider to be truths, but in reality these "truths" often don't exist anywhere but in our subconscious. And our subconscious can keep us in a state of nowhere-ness and stagnation if we let our mind entertain the wrong thoughts. We're certainly not getting any closer to living the life we desire because we're not doing anything but think about our problems (and who and what's responsible for them because it's certainly not us!). Therefore, step number one in taking action is to master your attitude. You call the shots. When fear, pessimism, anger, jealousy, cynicism and other unproductive thoughts enter your mind, get rid of them as fast as they came in. They don't serve you well. Successful people don't waste time on unproductive thoughts. Cynics don't enjoy success. If you don't believe this, ask yourself if negative beliefs, feelings and ideas have gotten you anywhere in the past.
Then, take a step. Any step. However small it may be, you'll be moving toward your goals. Remember, success values action. It doesn't care how small. If fear keeps you from moving, keep in mind that fear is a byproduct of your subconscious and your internal beliefs. It does not serve you so don't let it dictate what you can and cannot do. Once you take a step, and then another and another, you'll find that it becomes easier to do. And you'll realize that your fears have no basis in reality. Action is reality. And while there is no effortless success, once you get in the habit of taking action, your success will almost seem effortless. At least it will appear that way to everyone else sitting around merely dreaming about success.

Secrets of Success: Attitude Creates Your Altitude
If you want to elevate your life, you must look at your attitude first. Attitude is the number one secret of success. Read on if you're ready to climb to new heights today.
Your attitude shapes every single day. Each one of us has incorporated beliefs and "truths" about life into our daily thoughts. These thoughts lead to action, which then creates results. If you're not happy with the results you're getting in life, then you need to seriously evaluate your attitude. Often the beliefs we consider to be "truths" are nothing more than fabrications of our subconscious.
What problems do you face day in and day out? It's likely that whatever "eats" at you on a daily basis is your beliefs, thoughts and feelings surrounding these issues. Write these problems down and then evaluate your thoughts about them.
For example, if a lack of money is a constant issue, consider carefully your beliefs about money (and write them down on paper). Do you find yourself resenting rich people? Do you consider rich people to be thieves? Do you feel that rich people are snobs and poor people and the middle class are honest, kind-hearted folks? Do you feel you'd make more money if your boss was a nicer person, or didn't "have it in for you?" Do you believe less qualified workers get the promotions you should be getting because they "suck up to the boss?"
All of these beliefs and thoughts amount to nothing more than your subconscious feeding your mind with mistruths, falsehoods and justifications, just so you can feel better yourself and your current state of affairs. More specifically, your subconscious places these ideas in your mind so you can feel good about not taking any action to improve your situation. It's easier to be angry at those more successful than it is for you to take the steps to gain your own financial security and freedom. Worse yet, those thoughts create even more pessimism, cynicism, anger and resentment which places you in a constant cycle of doing nothing but stew in a bath of unproductive, stress-inducing thoughts. In other words, your beliefs about money (or the lack thereof) lead to action (doing nothing) which results in getting nowhere on a daily basis.
Can you see now how your attitude affects the outcomes you realize each day? It doesn't matter what problems you face - money, relationships, career - your attitude will be the key in resolving or perpetuating these issues. The great news is you can change your attitude immediately. It does not own you. You are its master, but only if you choose to be. How do you "feel" about making today different than yesterday? It's entirely up to you.

Steps to Success: Find the Adventure in Creating Your Life
Like hopping from rock to rock to cross a rushing stream, your life is riddled with opportunities, obstacles and challenges as you navigate toward your goals. And as you carefully calculate your steps and jumps across the stream so as not to get wet, your steps to success will sometimes be measured and sometimes with educated risk. But if done with the right attitude, your steps will always be about the opportunity and very little if any about the obstacles. You'll value the risk and overcome your fears with action.
See opportunities not obstacles
The successful in life see a world of opportunity and its many rewards. Those simply drifting through life see little opportunity and the many risks that come with that opportunity. If we use the metaphor of a rushing stream for life and the crossing of it our measure of success, then consider a successful person. They view the stream as opportunity. Successfully crossing it provides the many benefits of having a whole new world to explore on the other side. While they prefer not to get wet, they realize the risk of miscalculating a foot step is more than worth the rewards waiting on the far bank. The chronically unsuccessful dwell on the cold water, the fear of stepping on unstable ground, the need to understand ever variable and condition before making a move. Hence, they never even jump to the first rock, or retreat quickly when fear takes over.
Embrace educated risk
The successful eye what appears to be sturdy rock in the middle of the stream. It's a little wet, so there is the chance their boot might slip when they land. Or they have a hunch it may not be as sturdy as it seems. However, they feel confident enough in their abilities to either stick the landing perfectly, or recover and get on their way if things don't go as well as planned. The unsuccessful will "research" that rock to death. They keep waffling between "I can make it," then "no I can't" and on and on. The rock isn't dry enough. What if I slip and fall into the river? How will I ever recover? So it goes as obstacle after obstacle makes that stream crossing too risky to even try.
Take that step
The successful are going to find a way across that stream. Even if it means they just jump right in and come out wet and smiling on the other side. It's all part of the adventure. And they know they'll be more experienced at crossing streams next time. Without that first step, you just end up standing there - a statue of fear and doubt. Of course, this is where the unsuccessful feel at home. Standing still is a habit for them. It's easy to justify and explain away. That stream is just too risky to cross. Besides, this side of the bank is perfectly fine. I know it well and I know how to scratch out an existence with everyone else on this side. Blah, blah, blah.
Life can be summed up this way: no steps, no success. It's just that simple.
